STEM sin Fronteras ha trabajado durante los últimos 5 como docente de la
Institución Educativa Arturo Mejía Jaramillo (IE-AMJ) del municipio de
Lérida en el Tolima con un promedio de 80-100 estudiantes/año.
Con una experiencia de más de 15 años como docente
trabajando en el sector público y privado ha impactando a más 4000 estudiantes en el Tolima. El docente MEd. Matta ha tenido que luchar contra la resistencia que la comunidad de Lérida y sus estudiantes presentan en el ámbito educativo. La falta de herramientas pedagógicas, la brecha digital sin ningún acceso a internet y la falta de motivación de los estudiantes y la comunidad para avanzar en la educación en las zonas rurales ha sido un desafío, pero una excelente oportunidad para innovar y generar impacto durante la pandemia de COVID19.
Hoy, comparte su experiencia educativa durante la pandemia de COVID19. ENG- Professor Rene Matta-Camacho, a member of the Scientific and Pedagogical Advisory Board of the STEM Without Borders Foundation, has worked for the last 5 years as a teacher at the Arturo Mejía Jaramillo Educational Institution (IE-AMJ) of the municipality of Lérida (rural area) in Tolima with an average of 80-100 students/year.
With more than 15 years as a teacher working in the public and private sectors, he has impacted more than 4000 students in Tolima. The teacher MEd. Matta has had to fight against the resistance that the community of Lerida and its students present in the educational field. The lack of pedagogical tools, the digital gap with absolutely no access to the internet and the lack of students and community motivation towards advancing education in the rural areas has been challenging but an excellent opportunity to innovate and generate impact during the pandemic of COVID19.
