I am a special education teacher at Cikal Secondary School, Jakarta, Indonesia. I support the students with special needs to learn in an inclusive setting. As all the school activities went online and virtual, our students started to miss the social interaction they have with their peers. Virtual classes rarely give much opportunities for the students to talk about things outside the learning topic, or to talk about what they are up to recently in a casual manner. Therefore, my colleague and I initiated a Free Talk Session for students with special needs to talk and discuss about anything they like and want without being restricted to talking about school-related topics.
